IGTWCC IX (S18) Champion Crowned

For the 2nd consecutive season, one of Scotland's finest teams, Beginners Mind RFC, have become IGTWCC Cup Champions in a game of 2 halves at the Gusarska Kuca Stadium winning with a 20-51 scoreline.

Rab Ragbi Klub's manager enriko must have been quietly confident when his team walked in at half-time with a narrow 7-10 lead, but 5 second half tries by the "Mind" snuffed out any chance of upsetting the reigning champs...and the rest is history.

Well done Beginners Mind RFC manager qpeace

Next we have "The Laboriose Award", which is awarded to the team who I think has shown commitment and effort, and hard work "Above and Beyond" throughout the IGTWCC Tournament. Laboriose is a latin word which is defined as: laboriously, with great effort.

This season there were 2 teams who made my short list, and it was again a tough decision to pick the winner, and they were Kiwi Overstayers, and the Gouna Goons.

Both teams have shown great competitive spirit in the competition, but in the end there could only be one winner and that was Kiwi Overstayers manager Skandalous who best showed the qualities that I look for in a recipient of this prestigious award, in not only this season, but in many IGTWCC past as well.

The Laboriose Award - Kiwi Overstayers (ENG)

IGTWCC IX GOLD WOODEN SPOON WINNER - Steelhead RFC (CAN)
 Runner Up - Louder (ITA)
 3rd Place - Tri-States RFC (USA)

IGTWCC IX BRONZE WOODEN SPOON WINNER - Pink Pigs (PI)
Runner Up - Shoot The Piano Player (NLD)
3rd Place - Den Haag Scots (NED)
4th Place - Pink Dragons (NZL)

The final 2 awards are for the Top Points & Top Try Scorer and they were as follows;

Top Points Scorer - Pierce Mawby - Frodsham Koala Bears (GEO)

The top try scorer was a tie between Frodsham Koala Bears and Woodward Chile, so I will award both teams a medal.

Top Try Scorer - Deion Millman & Warren Wise - Frodsham Koala Bears (GEO
Top Try Scorer - Josh Power - Woodward Chile (CHI)

All trophies have been awarded.

This also means that the following teams have qualified to play against the winners of the WCC for the WCC Masters on Thursday of Round 15 or mutually agreed date, next season if need be.

CUP - Beginners Mind RFC (SCO)
 PLATE - Changwon Pumas (SK)
BOWL - Busan Marauders RFC (SK)
 SHIELD - Mc Lovin (ESP)
 VASE - Mount Reynold (ITA)
 PLAQUE - Victoria Newcastle (GER)

Also the winner of the WCC Cup Masters will play the winner of the Blackout Rugby International Championship (BRIC) for ultimate bragging rights.

Thanks to all managers who took part this season....you are what makes this competition so great.
