IGTWCC XIV Champion Crowned
Post date: 16-Dec-2014 09:10:46
In a rags to riches fairy tale, Nem Vem Que Não Tem manager "saintYfronts-first martyr" has guided his team from IGTWCC Vase Winners in S22, to winning the IGT World Club Championship XIV, beating last years champions, Worcester Wusses 7 - 37 in the Cup Final at Pinvin Park.
Win a 0-10 half-time scoreline, Mattt's Wusses were still in the game, but 3 2nd half tries by the Brazilian visitors was enough to seal the Championship.
Well done Nem Vem Que Não Tem.....S23 IGTWCC XIV Champions

Next we have "The Laboriose Award", which is awarded to the team who I think has shown commitment and effort, and hard work "Above and Beyond" throughout the IGTWCC Tournament. Laboriose is a latin word which is defined as: laboriously, with great effort.
This season there are 2 recipients of the Laboriose Award, and they are;
The IGTWCC XIV Laboriose Award - Grampus (JPN)
The IGTWCC XIV Laboriose Award - Galway French (IRE)
This season I have awarded the 1st trophy to Grampus Manager ziggyzero, who is a fairly new IGTWCC manager, however early on in the finals, he should great sportsmanship allowing me to arrange a fixture in a "Anytime Friendly" spot, to allow a manager who had Cup Final commitments to take part.....he allowed this and lost the fixture and accepted this in the spirit that the IGTWCC is played....well done sir.
The 2nd trophy goes to Galway French manager wonderfulworld,who has been a perennial bridesmaid and an IGTWCC and WCC regular for countless seasons, and always shown all the qualities I look for in a recipient of the award, whether winning trophies or getting knocked out early, every season he is back, and is the reasons these competitions are what they are.
Last but not least the Wooden Spoon Winners were;
Gold - Steelhead RFC (CAN)
Silver - Appalachian Braves (USA)
Bronze - TooLong (NLD)
This also means that the following teams have qualified to play against the winners of the WCC for the WCC Masters, which will take place as Anytime fixtures set by me, after the completion of the WCC
CUP - Nem Vem Que Não Tem (BRA)
PLATE - Chiredzi Hippos (ZIM)
BOWL - Flat Earth Society (WAL)
SHIELD - StoneCold Legion (ZIM)
VASE - Safari Kings (KEN)
PLAQUE - Cthulu Rugby (PI)
Also the winner of the WCC Cup Masters will play the winner of the Blackout Rugby International Championship (BRIC) for ultimate bragging rights.
The top points and try scorer sheets have also been updated, and you can see the winners of each division on the Qwik-Link here
Thanks to all for another great IGTWCC Season
